The 8224 Chelsea Rancher in classic Black Harness leather is now part of the Red Wing Heritage Collection. For many years, the predecessors 2917 and 2918 Chelsea Ranchers were among the absolute bestsellers, so customers were sad to see this style discontinued a few years ago. But finally, the successor is here! Unlike the original Chelsea Ranchers, the new 8224 doesn’t feature a Roccia sole, but rather the tried-and-true, popular Vibram 430 Minilug. This sole stands out for its recessed tread pattern, elegant side profile, and outstanding durability. In terms of fit, RW recommends choosing the same size for the 8224 as you would for the “old” Chelsea, since both shoes are crafted on the same size 8 last and therefore have an identical fit. This last is also used for the Iron Ranger or Blacksmith, for example. As always, the boot retains the familiar, slightly rugged Red Wing Chelsea look and offers plenty of room for a comfortable fit!
